Ahh, the sea breeze and winter sunshine!
We came to San Francisco in late January because Berty was working on a creative project. We had a huge dream-list of places to see, and with only 4 full days to explore the Bay Area, we were determined to make it happen anyways.
A lofty goal? Probably, but we like to think our informal motto is “we can sleep when we’re dead“, so if that meant waking up at 4:00 am every day, bring on the sunrises!
We spent all week exploring San Francisco, but our most anticipated stop was watching the sunset at Bolinas Ridge…we hope you like our little mini photo album!

A Golden Sunset At Bolinas Ridge
For starters, you may be asking, “Where is Bolinas Ridge?”
This strip of rolling hills right next to the Pacific Ocean is located at the edge of Mt. Tamalpais State Park in Marin County, just north of the city of San Francisco. Currently, you need a California State Park day pass to enter the Bolinas Ridge area, which as of January 2018 was $8.00 per vehicle.
Snapping a photo Bolinas Ridge is the absolutely perfect opportunity to use those sunsets quotes on social media – in fact one can argue that sunsets here are some of the best!
IF SUNSET IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT, WHAT DO I DO DURING THE DAY?
There are so many incredible things to do around San Francisco.
While Bolinas Ridge is amazing for sunsets, there are many locations around the area to experience during the day. These can range from exploring the city limits to getting out into nature – everything is pretty close to one another in the Bay Area!
