We have a surprise that we’ve been keeping from you. We’re driving down the Pacific Coast in less than a week! We’re partnering with a new camper van company called Caravan Outfitter and driving down the coast of Washington, Oregon, and California. We’ve been ironing out the details all month long and we’re finally ready to tell you all about it!
Our Pacific Coast Road Trip Itinerary
The idea first started with looking at our 2017 Bucket List. Berty and I thought to ourselves, “Wow, there’s at least SIX places on our list that we could see if only we took a road trip down the Pacific Coast…” One thing led to another, and we both had an open window of 10 days in June to embark on this road trip! We’ve been mapping out places to stay, what we’ll pack in the van, and things to see all along the way for the past month. One important lesson we’ve learned while planning this trip is to PLAN AHEAD. Especially when reserving campsites in Yosemite National Park and Redwood State Park. Make sure you begin reserving in January for a summer trip unless you want to spend hours on the phone and searching the internet like we did!
We’re starting in Seattle, heading south along the 101, and continuing on Highway 1 in California until San Francisco. From there we’ll drive east to Yosemite, then make our way up north again through Shasta, Crater Lake, Painted Hill, then back to Seattle. That’s the grand loop!
